Description
Student Senate Meetings serve as an open, inclusive forum where the Carteret Community College community comes together to support and enhance student life. Open to all students, staff, and faculty, these meetings provide a space to share student and club events, raise concerns, propose ideas, and collaborate on initiatives that strengthen campus engagement and advocacy.
The Student Senate represents the voice of the student body and encourages participation from anyone who has something to share or wants to stay informed about what’s happening on campus. Whether you’re bringing forward an idea, seeking support for an event, or simply looking to be part of the conversation, all voices are welcome. Come grab pizza and snacks with us—or bring your lunch and join in on the conversation.

- What is an SGA Senate Meeting?
Senate Meetings are where the Student Government Association comes together to discuss student concerns, campus activities, club business, upcoming events, and other topics that impact the student experience at Carteret CC.
- Who can attend a Senate Meeting?
Senate Meetings are open to Carteret CC students! You do not have to be an SGA officer or senator to attend. Yes, all Students and employees are welcome and encouraged to come to these meetings.
- Can I bring a concern or idea to SGA?
Yes! SGA is here to represent students. If you have an idea for campus, a concern you think SGA should be aware of, or something you would like to see changed or added, Senate Meetings are a great place to get involved.
- Can I speak during a Senate Meeting?
Students who have a question, concern, idea, or other business for SGA may have an opportunity to speak during the appropriate portion of the meeting. For an item that needs dedicated discussion, it’s best to contact SGA ahead of time.
- I’ve never been involved in SGA before. Can I still participate?
Of course! You don’t need previous student government experience to get involved. Whether you want to represent students, share an idea, meet new people, or simply learn more about what SGA does, you’re welcome to start by attending a meeting.
